Meanwhile, it is to be noted the Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, appeared on national televisions stations threatening PDP Governors for supporting the current Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

In a caucus meeting in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, a few days ago, PDP Governors appeared to drum support for Fubara, who has been at loggerhead since succeeding Wike as the Governor of Rivers State, over the control of Rivers State PDP structure, vowing to take back their position and structure.

On Saturday, while addressing the stakeholders of the party at state congress in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers State, Wike boasted: “Let me assure you, not while we live, will anybody take away the PDP structure from us.

“Let me tell you people; I hear that there are some governors who said they will take away the structure and give to somebody. I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.

Howbeit, reactions have trailed Wike’s threat from various quarters, and one of which is the deputy national publicity secretary of the party (PDP), who revealed that they have received written petition against Wike for suggested anti-party activities, assuring that the committee of the party has written to him (Wike) for invitation to appear before the panel.

“We have received petitions with regards to anti-party on those sabotaging the party all through the primaries leading up to where we are today. Those petitions have been aggregated across the country.”

Responding to fielded questions about the petition received against Wike, he said that the party should not have overlooked Wike’s overbearing acts since the onset. He, as a card-carrying member of the party, should not have been allowed to get this far.

He stated, “Nyesom Wike is one of the persons expected to face that committee which is headed by no less a person than High Chief Tom Ikimi.”

He lauded the present Leadership and newly inaugurated committee of the party and asked to be given kudos for “being able to navigate the waters by not sanctioning people without giving them an opportunity of fair hearing.”

He also disclosed that the current leadership of the PDP is far better equipped to handle grief and grievances among the members of the party than what had under the immediate-past national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Speaking concerning the threat made by the Minister of the Federal capital Territory Nyesom Wike against the PDP Governors who drummed their support for Fubara over the Rivers State PDP crisis.

Abdullahi said: “He (Wike) was referring to something and it was clear for everybody to see that he was referring to the governor of Bauchi State over his interference in the congress in the determination of the congress in Rivers State.

“I don’t know if Wike will be fair to himself if he expects the governor of Bauchi, who is the chairman of the governors forum and the leader of the PDP going forward to keep quiet in the issues affecting Rivers State because that is one of our states and we worked so hard to get that state. Wike should have been able to manage his words carefully.

“It was a very disappointing remark, we were not expecting him to say that and we are not with him on that.”

Also responding to questions posed during the TV Breakfast Show about whose side is the party on; if the party would support and side with the Governor of the Bauchi State.

He said, “We are with Wike and everybody. What we are saying is that that is a very bad statement for Wike to make and we are not in support of it.”

speaking on if the Party (PDP) would be able to address the crisis militating against the party, he said, “PDP has handled more delicate issues in the past, adding that the current impasse is “one of them and we will go past it.”
