Co-Founder, Bill Gates Leaves Microsoft Board. The co-founder of Technology Behemoth, Microsoft, Bill Gates is leaving the company’s board of directors, the company announced on Friday.
The company announced that his leaving the company takes immediate effect.
The decision to a positively severe operational relationship with Microsoft comes after a 45-year stint at the helm of affairs of the large organization.
FactSet asserts that Bill Gates currently owns a 1.36% share of Microsoft, thereby making him one of the top shareholders of the company.
Bill Gates along with Paul Allen founded Microsoft in 1975. Paul Allen has since died in 2008.

Bill Gate, in his own words, said that:
“With respect to Microsoft, stepping down from the board in no way means stepping away from the company,”
Gates also said.

Stepping Down from Other Boards
It should be noted that Bill Gate is also stepping down from the board of Berkshire Hathaway, his fellow Billionaire-Friend, Warren Buffet’s company.

Bill Gate stayed on as a director of the board of Microsoft until 2014 before devoting more of his time to his philanthropy endeavours- Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
