Death Of Ajimobi : The Reality Of The Day Of Reckoning For Men recalls the inevitability of death as we all will be humbled by this august visitor one day.
The demise of the former governor of Oyo State, Sen. Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi has been trending lately, generating controversy and tittle-tattle on cyberspace while all ears were keenly listening to the bird on Twitter to speak the truth.
The trends are not only the demise itself, the nature of his death but also the politicizing of his death induced by the lock horn between his wife, Florence Ajimobi and the machinery of the Oyo State Government.
Another interesting twist to his death is the rumour of the illegally acquired piece of land in an eyebrow area of Ibadan, the capital city of the state.
The Ajimobi Camp is claiming the right to the landed property, is a gift from the former Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Azeez Arisekola.
However, feelers from the Oyo State Government quarters indicates that the benefactor did not perfect the documentation while alive, and before transferring it as a gift to the demised governor.
Given the fact that the widow of the former governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi dressed down the deputy governor of the state during a condolence visit to the family house of the Ajimobis and accused him and his boss, incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde of playing politics with the death of her husband, it is clear that we have not seen the last of the drama.
When his demise was first inaccurately announced, some were already shouting for joy while some were plunged into the brim of anguish.

However, things fell apart when the news from the hospital where he was admitted whir out that he was still alive but in critical condition, and that’s how the earlier blinded rumour was first swallowed until the actual inevitable cold hands of death caught up with him and he was taking from the realm of mortality on the 25th of June, 2020.
Meanwhile, the riveting aspect of the ongoing pandemics to Nigerians is constantly its ability to short-circuit the so-called tyrant rulers that have been exploiting them right from their ascension as the winner of one political office or another.
So, they focused their heart-felt prayer towards them, like a sharp and pointing lance holds by a furious knight, aimed at ripping out their foes’ heart.
On the 16th of June, 2020, despite the fluctuating health status of Senator Ajimobi, popularly called Mr Kosheleri, who was then the APC’s Deputy National Chairman for the Southern Region of Nigeria, was named the Acting National Chairman by the then Adam Oshiomole/Tinubu’s Faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, after Comrade Adams Oshiomole has been lashed with the rod of suspension at the earlier week.
Though his announcement as the Acting National Chairman of the APC was fiercely contested by the Victor Giadom’s faction of the National Working Committee of the APC at the court of competent jurisdiction.
The Master Arbiter itself, death has finally settled the score with Senator Ajimobi recalled and relocated into the other world, paving the way for a restructuring which President Buhari has since triggered with the appointment of Governor Buni of Yobe State as the Caretaker Chairman of the APC with the view of organizing a national Convention within 6 months from now.

Life does go on, as confusion was jutted to the peak. And that’s how the turn of the ‘Constituted Authority’ was lost in the haze of mere fantasies.
Before he finally received the slice of his heavy bread in the early hours of June 25, 2020. A great political elephant fell and refused to rise back. We all mourn a fine politician, albeit varying personal opinion.
It is indubitable that everybody that possesses a portion of life will surely taste death, like an old saying which says “death is inevitable”.
However, our deeds more than anything will speak about us in the darkest night and dazzling day, from infant and aged mouth, and no matter how wicked a person can be, he is certainly good to some, vice versa.
Sen. Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi became a senator of the Republic of Nigeria in 2003, representing Oyo South Senatorial District.
He was a Principal Officer in the Senate and then served as the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, during which he founded the first and the largest Free Vocational Training Center, in Oyo state.
This seems to be his signature achievement, among others, as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As an ambitious man, he contested the gubernatorial election in 2007, under the auspices of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) but lost the election bid.
He came back to contest the 2011 Oyo State Gubernatorial election under the APC Party and he won the election and became the governor of Oyo State.
His first tenure was embellished with ideas and dreams to make a change to, but like a dictatorship, his unyielding disposition to corrections and criticisms which eventually drove the state into a colossal disdain during his second term.

Gone were the teachers that developed heart series of deadly diseases and the citizens that retrogressed from the middle class to being poverty-stricken, as the economy crumbled.
Many were students who bade school farewell when the idea of government fee per term was announced because their parent could not afford it. Aren’t they in Public School while sustaining the ideal of progressivism?
It is incomplete if the express road constructed by Governor Ajimobi of blessed memory is not mentioned, as well as the other projects which he facilitated, and which underscores the growth and the development of Oyo state.
How about the regulations, and the consequential beauty which it has brought to the narrow and jammed incidences that have been battling free and accessible transportation across the state?
Although, beyond where his achievement could reach or what his hands could raise, his unrestrained and acerbic tongue had gone beyond.
His words, like a sharp dagger, had been used to pummel many hearts, thereby sending them to the exile of the inferiority complex.
Without minding the avalanche of destruction which his inconsiderable words and the ruins brought about by his tongue had caused fellow human beings. It is this character that earned him a sobriquet: “The Constituted Authority”. Your name would not be erased from the history of Nigeria, and most importantly, Oyo politics.

Alas, nothing can save a man from his own death. Not achievement. Not wealth nor courage or weakness.
A pilgrim shall set to sail and get back home one day. As Julius Augustus Caesar, the Emperor, Roman General and Statesman once said: “This world is a stage, and all men and women, are merely players.
They have their entrances, and their exits, and every man in his time, plays his own part.”
Adieu! Senator Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi, A.K.A. Mr Koseleri. “Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi rajioon”. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-firdos and his family patience.
